Paediatric First Aid – 2 days (12 Hours) – Level 3 (RQF)
Course Overview:
This 2-day course is designed for workers caring for children and infants in the absence of their parents e.g. child minders, nursery or pre-school staff. The qualification meets current Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory requirements for those working in early years settings.
Currently the EYFS statutory framework requires at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate to be on the premises or on outings at all times when children are present.
This qualification is designed to provide essential paediatric life-saving and incident management skills.
By constantly reinforcing basic principles and procedures and building on these throughout the day candidates will learn a systematic approach to first aid that can be applied to any given situation. Assessment is continuous throughout the course by way of practical demonstrations.
Our courses are delivered in a fun and relaxed manner using incident based scenarios appropriate to the context of the course and the groups working environment. The training methods and techniques used on our courses are specifically designed to make first aiders more confident when dealing with real life incidents.
Due to the rise in awareness of defibrillators (AED’s) this course includes full defibrillator training in accordance with the current UK Resuscitation Council guidelines.
