Outdoor First Aid – Emergency Action – 1 day (8 Hours) – Level 3 RQF
Course Overview:
This 1-day course is designed to meet the needs of outdoor workers or instructors operating in non-remote outdoor environments. This qualification will maintain the license to practice for those holding certain outdoor National Governing Body instructor awards.
This fun and dynamic 8-hour course is guaranteed to be practical and active in nature and is designed to provide essential life saving skills.
By constantly reinforcing basic principles and procedures and building on these throughout the day candidates will learn a systematic approach to first aid that can be applied to any given situation. There is no final exam and candidates are assessed continuously throughout the course by way of practical demonstrations.
Our courses are delivered in a fun and relaxed manner using incident based scenarios appropriate to the context of the course and the groups working environment. The training methods and techniques used on our courses are specifically designed to make first aiders more confident when dealing with real life incidents.
Due to the rise in awareness of defibrillators (AED’s) this course includes full defibrillator training in accordance with the current UK Resuscitation Council guidelines.

- Roles & responsibilities of the First Aider
- Outdoor specific incident management techniques
- Unconscious casualty management
- CPR & AED use (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Choking
- Serious bleeding & shock
- Some illnesses
- Environmental effects
- Heat & cold injuries
