Emergency Life Support – Half day (3 – 4 Hours)
Course Overview:
This very popular short course covers the essential life-saving skills found in most first aid qualifications in order to give you the confidence to deal with real life incidents.
This fun and dynamic half-day course is guaranteed to be practical and active in nature and is designed to provide or refresh essential life-saving skills.
By constantly reinforcing basic principles and procedures and building on these throughout the session candidates will learn a systematic approach to first aid that can be applied to any given situation.
Our courses are delivered in a fun and relaxed manner using incident based scenarios appropriate to the context of the course and the groups working environment. The training methods and techniques used on our courses are specifically designed to make First Aiders more confident when dealing with real life incidents.
Due to the rise in awareness of defibrillators (AED’s) this course includes full defibrillator training in accordance with the current UK Resuscitation Council guidelines.
This course duration is flexible and can be run during a morning, afternoon or evening session. We are able to run this course in a venue of your choice or we have our own Bristol Harbourside training venue.

- Roles & responsibilities of the First Aider
- Incident management techniques
- Unconscious casualty management
- Safe airway positions
- CPR & AED use (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Choking
- Serious bleeding & shock
