Emergency Paediatric First Aid – 1 day (6 Hours) – Level 3 (RQF)
Course Overview:
This 1-day course is designed to give you the essential life-saving skills for children and infants in your care. It is well suited to parents, nannies, au pairs or baby sitters.
This course is not suitable for current Ofsted or EYFS requirements which both require the 2-day, 12- hour Paediatric First Aid course. This content of this Emergency course is covered on the first day of the 2-day Paediatric course.
This qualification will allow an individual to take on the role of a first aider in a position that has a responsibility of caring for infants and children. It may also have been identified as necessary to hold by way of a workplace risk assessment.
By constantly reinforcing basic principles and procedures and building on these throughout the day candidates will learn a systematic approach to first aid that can be applied to any given situation. Assessment is continuous throughout the course by way of practical demonstrations.
Our courses are delivered in a fun and relaxed manner using incident based scenarios appropriate to the context of the course and the groups working environment. The training methods and techniques used on our courses are specifically designed to make first aiders more confident when dealing with real life incidents.
Due to the rise in awareness of defibrillators (AED’s) this course includes full defibrillator training in accordance with the current UK Resuscitation Council guidelines.
