Basic Life Support and Safe use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) – 4 hours – Level 2 RQF
Course Overview:
AED’s save lives!
Modern AED’s (Automated External Defibrillators) are becoming more common throughout the workplace and public places. They are straightforward to use and when needed casualty survival rates dramatically increase if an AED is available and if you have appropriately qualified personnel to use it.
Although you don’t need to be trained to use an AED in an emergency it is highly advisable to attend a training course in order to act promptly and boost confidence should an emergency situation arise and an AED is required.
This qualification is designed for individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required to deal with emergency situations that require efficient CPR and the safe use of an AED. Confident and competent use of these skills will give a casualty the best possible chance of surviving a cardiac arrest.
Guaranteed to be practical and active in nature this course will follow current UK Resuscitation Council guidelines to enable you to perform CPR and use an AED in a safe and efficient manner.
By constantly reinforcing basic principles and procedures and building on these throughout the day candidates will learn a systematic approach to first aid that can be applied to any given situation. There is no final exam and candidates are assessed continuously throughout the course by way of practical demonstrations.
Our courses are delivered in a fun and relaxed manner using incident based scenarios appropriate to the context of the course and the groups working environment. The training methods and techniques used on our courses are specifically designed to make first aiders more confident when dealing with real life incidents.
